Principles and Practice of Astrology
We first need to know its philosophy and belief system before we begin to exercise astrology. Observation and correlation are based on astrology. It has natural laws and truths as its basis. Natural regulations are laws which are obvious in nature and which in no manner depend on a particular scheme of faith. Astrology represents the natural reality, which each Soul undertakes, as it were, an evolving trip to either reunite with the Source or the Creator. Evolutionary astrology’s very principles teach the core of natural laws that describe and regulate the entire functioning of the manifest Creation. This is because creation occurs in the first place.
Astrology with many parts is very complicated, unlike the regular horoscope in the daily paper. These include: the planets, the 12 symbols (wind, soil, fires, water), the characteristics (Cardinal, fixed, and mutable), the ascendant, retrograde motion, other celestial bodies (asteroids, fixed, and big satellites), transits and yields, orbs, equinoxes and solstices. They are all, however not restricted to: the Zodiac aspects. Brief details of key parts are provided below.
The houses represent, in common practice, a general theme or life department described both in the physical environment of the human person and in personal life experiences. That’s why they are sometimes called trivial or topical homes. The time and location of birth (or start) are needed when calculating buildings in a birth chart. Some astrologers, when the time of birth is not known, take a birthing at midnight or sunrise, but it is not possible to expect a significant understanding.
The planet that governs the symbol on its cusp is governing every home. At least as much as the charts will impact the positioning of this planet in the charts as the planets in the building. Each symbol is dominated by a single one of the planets in the traditional Western astrology (notice that Sun and Moon in astrology are regarded as planets, meaning, literally, walkers, walkers between the stars).
